On Saturday, October 16th, attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler of Daggett Shuler Law appeared on Triad Today with Reverend Jayson Sloan, Pastor at St. Peter’s World Outreach Center (SPWOC). They discussed the upcoming We Care Run to End Hunger, taking place on November 20th at the Salem Creek Greenway. Watch the segment:

The We Care Run to End Hunger benefits the We Care House, which is run by the SPWOC. The We Care House provides food and clothing to the underserved in the Triad. Prior to the pandemic, the need was already great. But over the course of the past year, that need has only increased. Last year, the We Care House served over 6300 individuals, and more than 300 families weekly, which is nearly double that of the prior year. In fact, the the average food insecurity rate in the Triad is 16%. The We Care House is open to all, and not just limited to parishioners. They are partners with Second Harvest of Northwest North Carolina, an organization which also works to fight hunger locally.

Aside from benefiting a great cause, the event offers an opportunity to involve the Triad community. It promotes physical activity, and anyone can participate. There are three different events: a 5k, a 10k, and a 1 mile run. Families are welcomed (this event is stroller-friendly)! There is still plenty of time to register.
