Hosting holiday parties. As a host, remember you can be responsible or liable if you knew, or should have known, that one of your guests was impaired and you provided them with alcohol and they leave and cause a tragedy somewhere. You can be responsible as the host.
The new bicycle laws in North Carolina impose both rights and responsibilities on the rider.
In North Carolina, 16 and under, it’s mandatory to wear a bicycle helmet. If you’re over that age it’s not mandatory, but as the sign in the bicycle shops says, “A helmet is cheaper than a neurosurgical exam.”

Over the past 29 years, we’re up to over 500 thousand students that have taken the pledge to stay safe and sober on prom night.
Over the past 10 years in the United States there’s been about 1300 deaths of young people or students from violations of school bus laws. Likewise in North Carolina over the past 12 months there have been 12 deaths and 47 serious injuries from drivers violating school bus passing laws. So it’s a serious topic and it’s something that we all need a reminder on.
Hydration is very important not just when you’re active in doing fitness type things, but it’s essential for our life. The basic guidelines and recommendations, if you look them up, are you take your weight, so for me I’m a little under 170 pounds, divide it in half, that’s 85. You should drink 85 ounces of water a day. That’s a basic rule of thumb.
