Career Center and Reynolds High School Senior, Samuel Rocha, Wins Safe Sober T-Shirt Design Contest
Winston-Salem, NC (May 24th, 2021) – The Winston-Salem, North Carolina based nonprofit, Safe Sober is pleased to announce that Samuel Rocha, a senior at Career Center High and RJ Reynolds High, has won the Safe Sober T-Shirt Design Contest for 2021.
At a surprise presentation at Career Center High, the winning design was unveiled. Samuel was presented with the first shirt off the press, framed for display. Honored guests joining attorneys Griff Shuler and David Daggett included Winston-Salem Mayor, Allen Joines; Assistant Chief of the Winston-Salem Police Department, Lieutenant William Penn; other local dignitaries; and media.
Samuel will use his prize of a $1,000 scholarship to support his attendance of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he will study graphic design. Safe Sober also honored the classroom of the winning student with a $1000 grant. His graphic arts teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Messer, will use the grant money for supplies for her Graphic Design classroom to ensure that her students have all the tools they need to succeed in class.
