Spotlight With David Daggett: How to Help Fight Hunger
Year after year, I am amazed that one in five adults right here in Northwest North Carolina experiences hunger. One in five children are hungry in our community. Seniors on fixed incomes are often forced to choose between buying enough food and covering their medical expenses. And though these statistics are stark, they only show the need that continues to persist in the Triad. We need to join together to tackle this constant problem.
The overwhelming image of the holidays here in America always involves gathering with your closest friends and family and sharing the traditional dishes that come with the holiday season. For most of us, the holidays are fun times with family and friends, but for others, the holidays are just another tough period that they hope to survive. This holiday season, I encourage you to join me and our law firm to help the hungry in the Triad by donating to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.
Each November our team at Daggett Shuler holds a food drive to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. Each year we try to outdo ourselves in how generous we can be for our neighbors. It warms my heart to see our staff show up each day during our food drive with grocery bags full of healthy, nutritious food to donate to the Food Bank. We try not to take for granted just how significant this is.
