Supporting Students With Supplies: The Daggett Shuler Back-to-School Backpack Program
On Saturday, August 5th, attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler appeared on Triad Today to share how Daggett Shuler is supporting young people with their Back-to-School Backpack Program. Watch the segment:
Now in its 9th year, the Daggett Shuler Back-to-School Backpack Program works with five Winston-Salem/Forsyth County elementary schools to supply underprivileged kids with new backpacks full of all the necessary supplies. School counselors and administrators identify students in need to receive these backpacks. None of the bags or supplies have logos on them, to prevent other students from singling out these kids.
This program helps to create equal footing for young people as they begin the school year. Not having the necessary supplies puts a child at a disadvantage, especially considering that the beginning of the school year often sets the tone for the rest of the year. Getting a rocky start does not help young people, and the Back-to-School Backpack Program aims to ease those difficulties for kids and their families.
