Navigation Western New York Settlement Could Set New Standard for Treatment of Transgender Inmates, Advocates Say
A complaint filed by attorneys from BakerHostetler, the New York Civil Liberties Union and the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund has resulted in an agreement that inmates will be housed according to their gender identity and guarantees that jail staff use their correct name and pronouns.
